“Putting news on my Instagram stories is a way for me to inform people and I feel like I have a certain obligation to do so. Making well-thought-out decisions is very important, and I think it’s very pushed-aside for 11th and 12th graders–as if we don’t know what we’re talking about. Adults say “kids don’t know what they’re talking about, they’re too young to understand”–then let’s take a step towards understanding. If we can’t understand what is going on in the world, we can’t participate in any truly interesting conversation. What’s the point of going to an international school if you don’t understand these things? We’re interacting with different cultures, different people, different religions; there would be no benefit of you being here otherwise.” – Ridhima Shrivastava, Class of 2020
