Seniors, this one is for you.
There’s a very specific moment that happens every year around February. College decisions are in, the countdown feels real, and suddenly school starts to feel optional for seniors. You’re here, but also already somewhere else. Your mind is halfway to next year, and your teachers can feel it.
Here’s the honest part: we love teaching seniors. Sério! This stage of the year should be one of the most meaningful ones. You’re older, sharper, funnier, more interesting to talk to. You have opinions, stories, and perspectives that make classes richer for everyone. But this is also when you become the hardest group to teach.
And it’s not because you can’t do the work, but because you don’t want to.
The late arrivals with açaí in hand. The constant “I forgot” or “Do we have to?” The blank stares. The quiet resistance to anything that feels like effort. It slowly turns something that could be enjoyable into something exhausting.
Your teachers are not asking for perfection, we’re asking for presence.
Show up on time. Do the things we ask. Try. Not because you’re afraid of grades, but because respect still matters, and because your teachers are still here, trying very hard to give you something valuable, even in these last few months.
Stay with us for just a little longer, seniors. Let’s finish strong.
